The picture below is one of my favourite images. The original is an engraving found in a 19th century book by an early French astronomer. It shows a man who has found himself at the mythical point where the sky and earth touch, at the end of the known world. He puts his head through the dome of the sky and is amazed to observe what is beyond. I wonder what he saw. Maybe the cosmic machinery behind the sky was just paper clips and elastic bands. Maybe it was something else, something great or something terrible.
Regardless, I like to think that he returned to his hometown and told his family and friends about it. And that is what I am aiming to do here: to write about curious things that I find amazing and I hope you see them that way too.
